Hotel Smeraldo

We stayed for 4 nights and had 4 rooms. This is a very nice hotel! nothing negative to say. I am very fussy with cleanliness and this hotel was spotless, smells nice they are changing the towels and tidy up the room every day. The people at the reception very polite, and happy to answer all questions. Breakfast is also nice and the staff makes your feel very comfortable. The location is the best you could get, please try pizza and lots of amazing food at the forno just opposite of the entrance of the hotel. The roof bar is nice for a drink but nothing special, there are so many great bars and restaurants in rome to visit. We are very happy with our hotel choice!

A lovely small hotel located in the center of Rome. It's close to several restaurants, a grocery store, and even a small park if you happen to have a service dog with you. The rooms are spacious by European standards and have plenty of storage. They also have fabulous restrooms with all the amenities including wonderfully deep bathtubs. The thing that I like most about this hotel is the staff. They have gone absolutely above and beyond on many occasions to make our stay extra special. They cheerfully helped us by recommending restaurants, looking up directions for us on their computer, calling taxis for us, and helping us with our bags. The elevator is a bit small and would probably not accommodate a power wheelchair or scooter. But other than that it's an absolutely delightful place to stay. Starting your day with the best hotel breakfast dive every eaten in any country. And consider ending your day by spending some time on the rooftop Cafe enjoying the sunset, good food, wine, and some live jazz music. I highly recommend staying here.

I would ideally like to be writing a positive review. Alas, my experience as a solo female traveller was not great. I heard running water in the room on and off all the time I stayed. This obviously kept me awake which is not ideal for sightseeing. I asked to change room to which when asked my room number, the reply was 'oh you're in a single' no we haven't got another room. The breakfast was fine, plentiful. Only the lady would serve me. I was overlooked by the male server. The cleaners were lovely and worked to a high standard. The rooftop bar is lovely. The location is ideal. 20 minutes walk to most of the main attractions. Being a solo traveller and staying here I was made to feel very awkward.

Amazing location for first time Rome travelers. The location is perfect to get to all of the main attractions. Rome does have Uber, so getting to the train station was easy. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful - they are 24/7 in building which is a huge plus. The room was great and clean. The AC worked wonders and the room was very updated. We didn't experience noise from the street or other rooms. The breakfast was decent and the bar on the roof was wonderful! Overall, we would absolutely stay there again.
